PALISADIAN-POST
DECEMBER 2 1999 UPCOMING
EVENTS
Comedian and vocalist
Perry Kurtz will perform at Mort’s Oak Room on December 6 and 7 as part of
the "Didi Presents" entertainment series, starting at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
Monday, as part of Music Jam Night, he’ll sit in with the band and provide
some humor. Tuesday, he’ll do the comedy show. A
multi-media entertainer, Kurtz combines dance, sound effects, video,
traditional stand-up, audience participation, improvisation and music in his
performances. He was a winner on The Extreme Gong Show and has performed at
such clubs as The Comedy Store, Catch a Rising Star, The Laugh Factory and
Dangerfields, and recently became a free-lance writer for The Tonight Show. Said one San Francisco critic, “Outrageous, strange, yet extremely likable, Perry Kurtz is a performer who MUST be seen to be believed.” Kurtz’s broad act has evolved from two decades of various jobs in comedy. His first gig was as a satirical male stripper. He moved on to improv and eventually became a headliner, but kept the strip routine in his act. His goal is simply to make people laugh. “There is nothing like the feeling of having 200 people laughing hysterically,” he says. |
